Itinerary

Day One

Gold Coast → Roma → Wallaroo (Carnarvon Ranges)

Checking into the Seair Hangar at 06:15am, an early briefing and departure sees the sun rising over the Gold Coast. After a 2-hour flight you’ll touch down in Roma, where your specialist Boobook Explore guide will reveal the history, culture, and natural heritage of this vibrant outback town. From the iconic cattle saleyards and early settler landmarks to the stories of First Nations people and famous explorers, you’ll gain a fascinating insight into Roma’s evolution.

Lunch is served at Western Queensland Spirit, paired with a tasting paddle of their locally crafted spirits. In the afternoon, journey to Wallaroo Outback Retreat for a guided exploration of the property, before gathering around the campfire for a hearty outback dinner. Retire to your luxury glamping tent beneath the stars for a peaceful evening in the Carnarvon Ranges.

Day Two

Wallaroo → Winton

After a wholesome breakfast, follow your specialist guide through the Wallaroo property where you’ll step off the tourist-worn trail and explore the regions incredible biodiversity and indigenous rock art. Lunch will be accompanied by the spectacular rock formations and prehistoric landscape of the Carnarvon Ranges.

Departing mid-afternoon relax in the comfort of your Cessna Caravan for the 2-hour flight over Central West Queensland to Winton. Day Three

Winton

Your day commences with a gourmet breakfast on the deck at Rangelands before heading out for a full day tour. First stop is the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, which is home to the largest collection of Australian Dinosaur fossils in the world!

Following a delicious pub lunch, you’ll head back into Winton to explore the Waltzing Matilda Centre and enjoy free time to walk the main street. Returning to Rangelands in the afternoon, live out the true outback life as you watch the spectacular sunset turn into a stargazers dream whilst enjoying sunset drinks and cheese platters on the deck, before a gourmet dinner.

Day Four

Winton → Longreach

Enjoy a gourmet breakfast with a view on the deck of Rangelands before a short flight (30 min) to Longreach. After landing, it’s a short walk to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame to enjoy a spectacular outback experience. Here you will learn about the enduring journey of the stockman, the challenges and demands, and the evolution of this epic industry, before watching the stockman story come to life at the Stockman’s Life Live show.

Qantas Founders Museum

Following a delicious lunch, wander through the Qantas Founder Museum and immerse yourself in the rich history of aviation through interactive displays and engaging exhibits. Returning to the Gold Coast in the early evening, wish your fellow travellers farewell as the tour officially concludes.
