Itinerary

  • Day One

Departing from the Gold Coast, you will be flown via light aircraft with Seair Pacific to Lady Elliot Island. There are plenty of beautiful places to see along the way, which your pilot will point out.

After a one and a half hour flight, you’ll land on Lady Elliot Island and settle in to your Garden Unit. You’ll have the rest of the day to explore and snorkel along the beautiful reefs the island is famed for.

  • Day Two

Partake in one of the many activities on offer, such as a glass bottom boat and snorkel tour. Lady Elliot Island educate guests on how to enjoy the Island’s fragile ecosystem with minimal impact while sharing their knowledge about renewable technologies as the Island continues to introduce and expand sustainable eco initiatives. Depending on the weather and tide, you’ll also enjoy a Guided Clear Bottom Kayak Tour.

  • Day Three

On the morning of day 3, we’ll depart Lady Elliot Island on our private aircraft for a short flight to Outback Queensland. After making yourselves at home, you’ll be given a presentation about the property from our wonderful rangers before lunch. Afterwards, we’ll head to different spots on the property to photograph wildlife and landscapes before an Aussie BBQ under the stars, why not try some astrophotography too?

A rustic stockman’s quarters will be the base of this expedition. You can choose between staying in a shared air-conditioned room or an OzTent RV-5.

  • Day Four

After enjoying breakfast alongside our resident emus, we’ll explore the newest part of the Zoo’s greater conservation area, Yarooga, a 34,000-acre property adjacent to Mourachan purchased to increase the area of protected habitat. During our visit, we’ll meet Yarooga’s Ranger and see what it takes to manage a property in the Outback. There are striking old buildings, flourishing waterways and plenty of wildlife at Yarooga, making it a great spot to photograph!

You’ll have a relaxing afternoon around the Stockman’s Quarters, with a damper demonstration, where you can taste an Aussie classic with a cup of tea, or try making one yourself! There will also be time to edit your photos before dinner and a chance to meet some of our beautiful local species of wildlife.
